Five Ways to Stay on Your Fitness Game While Traveling

1. Wear compression socks while traveling, especially if by air or the drive is a long one! Opt for graduated compression socks (15-30mmHg) where the sock is tighter at the foot and gradually decreases compression as it goes up your leg. This will help prevent fluid from accumulating in your ankles and promote proper blood flow.

2. Ask employees at the local running or fitness store what their favorite running, walking, and hiking trails are. This is an amazing way of checking out a new city too!

3. Find a hotel with a pool and hot tub and alternate going between the 'cold plunge' and 'hot plunge.' It may not be like your ice baths at home, but even a small difference in water temperature can help flush out the lymphatic system and release endorphins.

4. Find a local gym or studio in the area that offers class packs. Opt for a facility or a class you haven't tried before-- have fun with it!

5. Bring your resistance bands so you have an easy, quick way to get a muscle pump session in. Strength training boosts your metabolism and energy levels, which is always a plus while traveling!
