Lady Gaga Embraces #TheProtocol. You Should Too!

On October 18th, Lady Gaga posted on her own Instagram details about her post-show routine which includes an ice bath for 5-10 minutes, a hot bath for 20 minutes, followed by 20 minutes in her NormaTec compression suit.  We all know her shows are physically-demanding, but did you know she also suffers from chronic pain due to fibromyalgia? It’s no surprise she understands the importance of staying physically fit in order to perform. Who knew she also understands the necessity of a dedicated recovery protocol?

It makes perfect sense to us.

You don’t have to be Lady Gaga to need a regular recovery routine. Whether you workout hard everyday, workout only occasionally, have chronic or intermittent pain, or need to de-stress from your work week, committing to a recovery routine plays a vital role in your overall health and wellbeing.

Like Lady Gaga’s recovery protocol, our Recovery Lab Protocol is designed to flush the lymphatic system to help decrease pain and inflammation, improve sleep and elevate mood, improve overall wellness and recovery, and increase metabolism.  Our version of a recovery protocol is slightly different from Lady Gaga’s -- but only slightly. Here’s a look at our recommended routine.

#TheProtocol:

1) 20-30 minutes in our full-spectrum infrared sauna with chromotherapy.

Infrared sauna has several benefits including:

  • Accelerated athletic recovery

  • Detoxification

  • Improved circulation

  • Pain relief

  • Relaxation

  • Weight loss

2) 3 Rounds of 1-3 minutes each contrasting between our cold tub and hot tub.

Our tubs are custom-built and medical grade to provide you with the benefits of contrast therapy (including FDA-approved cryotherapy).

  • Improves lymphatic circulation

  • Reduces muscle inflammation

  • Aids in fat loss

  • Improves cardiovascular circulation

  • Speed recovery from training & injury

  • Improves sleep quality

  • Strengthens the immune system

  • Reduces pain

  • Cryotherapy and Contrast Therapy in the form of water are better thermal conductors than air and have far greater benefits based on research

3) 15 minutes on NormaTec compression (arms, hip or legs).

The NormaTec Recovery system synergistically combines three distinct massage techniques to speed the body’s normal recovery process: pulsing compression, gradients, and distal release. Through these mechanisms, NormaTec recovery provides:

  • Increased flexibility

  • Reduced soreness

  • Increased blood flow

4) 2-5 minutes on our Whole Body Vibration Plate and access to our Rapid Release tool.

Whole Body Vibration benefits include:

  • Strengthen muscles

  • Increase bone mass

  • Increase blood flow

  • Increase flexibility

  • Stimulate lymphatic system

  • Increase metabolic cost of exercise

  • Decrease cortisol level

The Rapid Release Therapy Pro2 vibrating massage tool helps:

  • Decrease muscle tension

  • Relieve pain

  • Revitalize muscles

Use it to spot treat muscles, with short circular or zigzag motions and gentle application for maximum vibration. You only need 2-3 minutes per area to feel the difference!

You don’t have to be a mega-star like Lady Gaga to benefit from her recovery regimen, head over to The Generator and experience the power of #TheProtocol.
