COVID-19 and Us
Hey Friends,
We’re in a community health crisis with coronavirus. You know we’re all about community health and well-being so our hearts are very heavy right now. If we can do something about it, we will and we are. As you all know, Delfin and I are healthcare practitioners and have been taught early on the highest sanitation practices. As stewards of your physical well-being, we take a genuine interest in ensuring we are doing all we can to help mitigate risk at Generator Athlete Lab.
We created Generator Athlete Lab to be a place of wellness for the Austin community. It’s a place to get healthy and grow stronger. It’s a place to boost immunities. Seems like that’s what our community needs right now, so we’re staying open as long as we still feel it is safe. Please rest assured we’re not doing it “lightly”. We are taking ALL the precautions required -- and then some.
We are diligently following the developments of COVID-19 and closely following all of the updates. The health and wellness of you and your families are PRIORITY to us. We want you to come in if you are feeling healthy and well. We want you to come boost your immune system at this time when you may need it most because a community with a healthy immune system is a healthy community. Our infrared sauna as well as our cold/hot plunge baths are proven to boost your immune system and we want to provide that for you, especially in this time. We are committed to our members’ and clients’ health and we want to share with you the proactive steps we are taking to continue to help our community, but to do so in a manner that adheres to best practices from the CDC (Centers for Disease Control), federal and local authorities, as well as other experts.
STEPS WE ARE TAKING:
We are politely asking all our members & guests if they are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms upon check-in. Please, do NOT come in if you are feeling unwell or if you have a compromised immune system.
Anyone exhibiting cold or flu symptoms will be kindly asked to leave, including staff.
We are asking our members and guests to kindly inform the front desk if they have traveled out of the country in the previous 14 days.
We are requiring hand washing upon entering the facility and after taking class.
We are implementing a 7 person cap in our Wellness Recovery Studio to allow for social distancing. Book your spot online or call us at 512-614-2200 so you are assured a space when you arrive.
We are restricting capacity for all Small Group Fitness Classes
We are revising class formats to allow for hygiene and social distancing
We are using hospital grade Sanitizer/Virucide Cleaner on all equipment and high touch objects throughout the day.
Any and all linens or towels are sanitized after every use.
Team members are washing their hands with soap and water frequently throughout the day.
Know that viruses do not thrive in hot dry environments, like our infrared sauna. Note that our infrared sauna is a DRY sauna, not a steam sauna.
Know that Cold & Heat Stressors, like our hot/cold plunge tubs, have been shown to improve one’s immune system.
We also encourage our guests and others to follow these simple guidelines from the CDC:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue, then immediately throw it away. If a tissue is not available, cough or sneeze into your elbow or use something else to cover.
Avoid contact with people who are sick.
We are happy to help you reschedule any upcoming appointments if you feel sick or have a fever or a cough. If you have a fever higher than 100 degrees or feel you might have been exposed to coronavirus, please contact your primary care physician right away.
It’s okay to be nervous, but make it a priority to not panic. Be vigilant to keep yourself and the things around you clean. Take time to nurture yourself and to support your loved ones. Wash your hands, eat nourishing foods, stay hydrated, keep up your fitness routine, get sleep, do #TheProtocol, check in with your friends, and trust the experts.
We are continuing to monitor this situation and will post updates as developments warrant. Until then, we thank you for your patience and support. We are in this together, Generators!
